What is Academic Integrity?

• Academic integrity is defined as making sure that a submitted academic work, such as a paper, is the sole work of the student.
• Using outside material in a work without citations is called plagarism.

If you plagiarize a document and this is your first academic offense, what may the punishment?

1. You will be expelled.
2. You must participate in a dance competition.
3. You must pay a fine.
4. You can get an F in the course.

Why is APA citation important?

• It tells the reader where a quote or piece of information came from.
• Appropriate citations show that the paper and its writer have Academic Integrity.
