First, let's get into prior knowledge.

Woordvolgorde. Hoe zat dat ook alweer? Zet op de goede volgorde:
wanneer - waar - wie - wat - doet

He watched a film on television at home last weekend.

He = wie
watched = doet
a film = wat
at home = waar
last weekend = wanneer

Adjectives
Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord zegt iets over het zelfstandig naamwoord (ZN) in de zin. Een ZN is altijd een mens, dier, of ding.

In de zin komt het bijvoeglijk naamwoord dan altijd vóór het ZN.
Voorbeeld: The tall girl was running in the basketball court.

Er kunnen ook 2 bijvoeglijke naamwoorden in een zin staan:
Voorbeeld: The tall girl was running in the new basketball court.

Soms zegt het bijvoeglijk naamwoord ook iets over het onderwerp in de zin.
Voorbeeld: He is wonderful at what he does.
He = onderwerp, wonderful zegt iets over hem.

Het gaat hierbij om de woorden to be, look, appear en seem.
