Slide 1 - Quiz
Sir.. Please let us play outside?!
Slide 2 - Poll
5.3 Acceleration - uniform motion - deceleration
Slide 3 - Slide
Slide 4 - Video
Learning objectives
1. You can explain what happens to speed in uniform, accelerating and decelerating motions.
2. You can calculate the speed at any moment of the motion in a uniform motion
3. You can read off the (x,t)-diagram and the (vat)-diagram for a uniform, accelerating and decelerating motions.
Slide 5 - Slide
Physicists divide movements into different types. They mainly look at the speed:
-the speed is increasing,
-she stays the same all the time or
-does it continue to decline?
Slide 6 - Slide
Accelerating motion
The accelerated movement is a movement of which the speed is increasing.
Example: a car that starts driving after coming to a stop at a traffic light
Slide 7 - Slide
Slide 8 - Slide
Slide 9 - Slide
Uniform motion
The uniform movement is a movement in which the speed always remains the same.
Example: a car that constantly drives 100 km / h on the highway (on cruise control)
The uniform movement is also called the constant movement
Slide 10 - Slide
Slide 11 - Slide
Slide 12 - Slide
Decelerating motoin
The slowed down movement is a movement in which the speed continues to decrease.
Example: a car braking in front of a red traffic light

Slide 28 - Open question
b / Give an example of a speed that is very difficult to estimate.
Slide 29 - Open question
c / Explain why it is so difficult to estimate that second speed.
