Choose one of the situations below:

• A 16-year-old wants to choose a study program that their parents disagree with.
• An athlete wants to quit their sport despite pressure from the team and coach.
• A student doesn’t want to use social media even though all their friends do.

Answer together:

1. What choices does the person in this situation need to make?
2. What forms of external pressure play a role?
3. What would a humanist say about this person’s freedom?
4. What responsibility does the person have for their own choices?
