A glorious picture, where life was characterized by blessings and everything was working according to God’s plan. J Thus “God saw all that he had made and it was very good” (Genesis 1:31). This confirms that both humanity and creation were not designed for either sickness or death, but for the good.

What went wrong? 
Genesis 3 presents an unfortunate scenario where humanity falls into sin and disobedience. So God justly punished humanity for their disobedience. To the woman, he said “I will greatly increase your pain in childbearing,” and to the man, “Cursed is the ground because of you, in pain, you shall eat of it all the days of your life” (Genesis 3:16-18). Why do we heal the sick? 
Mark 16:18 Jesus commands his disciples to preach, teach, and to heal 
Luke 9:1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Matthew 10:1 He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’
