When:
- actions that took place in the past and are finished now
- often with an expression of time (last, ago, yesterday, in 2000)

Form:
- regular verbs: verb + (e)d
- irregular verbs: see  list (study by heart)

Did (past of do) + subject + verb (infinitive)
       - If you make a question in the past, the infinitive (verb),
