The Main Six
In Ancient Greek Mythology, Mount Olympus was founded by six immortal Olympians. Each of these Gods had their own special attributes, associations, and skills.

Zeus: King of the Olympians 
  • King of all Gods
  •  God of the sky and thunder 
  •  Ruler of entire universe
  • Symbol - lighting bolts

Hera: Queen of the Olympians 
  • Zeus’ sister and wife
  • Goddess of marriage,  fidelity, the sky and the stars 
  •   Scared animals included the cow, peacock, and cuckoo    
  • Protected women in labor

Poseidon 
  •  God of the sea
  •  Had control over storms, earthquakes, and horses
  •  Protector of seafarers 
  •  Symbol - Trident

Hestia
  • Goddess of hearth
  • Center of a family home
  • Role was to stay in Olympus to guard the fireplace
  • Represents security, stability, and permanece

Hades
  •  God of the Underworld
  •  Role to collect and keep the soles of the dead
  •  Name became synonymous of who he is
  •  Darkest of Gods

Demeter
  • Goddess of agriculture,  harvest, and grain
  •  Maternal Goddess with close links to the Earth
  •  Responsible for creating, growing, and harvesting grain
