Animals Talk
This video shows how animals "talk" to humans.
They use their bodies, faces, eyes, sounds, smells, and more to send messages.

Some people think only special humans can understand animals.
But really, anyone can do it, if they want to try.

When we care and pay attention, we start to understand what animals are saying.
Over time, we learn this way of "talking without words."

Many animals, and even humans, use the same kinds of signals!

Can you teach your dog to talk?
Bonnie is a one-year-old sheepdoodle. Bonnie is learning to "talk" using special buttons.
Each button says a word like “outside” or “play.”

At first, Bonnie had only one button. Now she has more than 50!
Bonnie is very popular on TikTok, she has over 3 million followers!

Scientists are also watching Bonnie. They want to know if she really understands the words.
We don’t know if Bonnie really understands language. But she helps people learn how to talk better with their pets!

Questions
Bonnie has helped people think about how they talk to their dogs and how to be better friends with their pets.
How do you show friendship to your pet?
Or how do you think people can be good friends to animals?

Challenge Day assignment
