What is the smallest and biggest animal you can think of?

Why do animals look different from each other?

Environment

• Animals live in a lot of different places, from antartica to the desert
•  Different environments, means different needs
• Animals need to adapt (aanpassen) to its envirnonment

Think of an example of an animal + how it has adapted to it's environment

The smallest animals

Single celled animals 

• An animal made of only one cell!
• No tissues or organs 
• Controlled by their nucleus
• Live in watery environments

A little bigger

Two-layered animal

• groups of different types of specialised cells
• only two cell layers thick 
• live in watery environments

From a few cells to a lot!

Complex animals

• Most of the animals you know, and even yourself
• Has different tissues, organs and organ systems
•
