Passives = lijdende vorm

Lijdende vorm = iets wordt gedaan
Het onderwerp doet niks maar 'wordt gedaan'

vaak worden in het NL de hulpwerkwoorden 'worden' en 'zijn' gebruikt

Het onderwerp / wordt / door iemand / gedaan
Het boek / werd / door hem / geschreven

Passives (English)

NL = wordt/werd + voltooid deelwoord
ENG = be (was/were) + voltooid deelwoord

Examples:
1. De producten worden getest voordat ze verzonden worden
The products are tested before shipping
2. De nieuwe winkel werd gisteren geopend
The new shop was opened yesterday


werkwoord to be: 
tt: I am, you are, he is etc.
vt: I was, you were, he was
