today's plan
1 At the end of this class, you can describe the elements of setting, characters and theme in the Landlady.

2 At the end of this class, you know what foreshadowing is and how it is used in the Landlady.

Slide 13 - Slide

Short Story
A fictional story that is usually shorter than a novel.
Therefore readers can often read it in one go. The story deals with only a few characters in a few, but important scenes. There is no complex plot and characters are not fully developed. A short story always has the sam plot structure: introduction, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.

Slide 14 - Slide

introduction of the story
1) Who is Billy Weaver? What do we know about him? (character)
2) Where is Billy going and where is he in the beginning of the story? (setting)
