- Iblis (or Iblees): the Devil (ash-Shaytan)

- Creation story: angels made out of light on Wednesday, jinn from a 'smokeless fire' on Thursday, and humans from Clay-mud on Friday.

- Iblis considered himself superior to the human Adam, and refused to bow for him and was punished by God (Allah) and sent to Hell.

- Iblis made a deal with God: he was allowed to tempt and mislead the humans, to see if they are worthy
