Planning for today
  • Intro
  • BS. 1.1  Metabolism
  • Make exercises
  • Check up

Slide 3 - Slide

At the end of lesson
... you can explain how plants hold energy in glucose during photosynthesis.

... you can explain that breaking down glucose releases energy.

Slide 4 - Slide

Maarten van der Weijden
 195 km in 4 days!

  • Where did he get the energy from?
  • What role did the respiratory system play?

Slide 5 - Slide

Sunlight energy

Slide 6 - Slide

Where do we get energy from?
make notes

Slide 7 - Slide

Where do we get energy from?
  • water + CO2+ sunlight → glucose + O2

  • converting substances into other substances = metabolism
make notes

Slide 8 - Slide

Slide 9 - Video

How does energy come free?
Glucose can be broken down. This happens in the mitochondria.

Important! Both plant and Animal Cells have mitochondria.

Energy comes free when glucose is broken down. This process is called combustion.

Now get to work

  • Make exercise 4 + 6 t/m 9
  • Exercise 4 in your notebook

What you don't finish will be homework!

Slide 11 - Slide

Answer the questions below:
