PRESENT SIMPLE: QUESTIONS & NEGATIONS
We gebruiken het werkwoord to do om vraagzinnen en ontkenningszinnen te maken.
De werkwoorden to be en to have got  (en andere hulpwerkwoorden) zijn uitzonderingen op deze standaardregel.

Het werkwoord to do wordt als volgt vervoegd:
  • I /you/we/they       do      :     I like chocolate             Do I like chocolate?
  • He/ she/it                does  :    She likes chocolate    Does she like chocolate?

Staat er geen am/are/is, has/have got of can in de zin?


Gebruik dan 'don't (do + not)' of 'doesn't (does + not)'  


Lions live in the wild.
Lions don't live in the wild.

  • Am/are/is en Can staan altijd vooraan in een vraagzin!

To make a question with am, are, is and can, you can put it at the beginning of the sentence. 

You are the teacher = Are you the teacher?
You can do you homework = Can you do your homework?
