• Wanneer je een zelfstandig naamwoord in de zin wilt herhalen:
  Do you prefer the black shoes or the red ones?
• One voor enkelvoud, Ones voor meervoud

• Na een bijvoeglijk naamwoord: Big problems and small ones.
• Na which: Which one should I pick?
• Na this, that, these & those: This one is best. 
• Als zelfstandig naamwoord: I like the ones with chocolate.
