Deze hulpwoorden gebruik je om te zeggen dat er iets moet gebeuren.
1. Should=advies
2. have/has to= het moet verplicht
3. must= als je zelf vindt dat het moet of als het moet maar het is niet verplicht

can/could
Je gebruikt can of could vooraan een vraag als je vraagt of jij/iemand anders iets kan doen.

Can you call me back?
Could you give me some money?

could is de beleefde versie van can!

Modals
Hoofdwerkwoorden (walk, eat) kunnen veranderen afhankelijk van de tijd (walked, ate), maar je kunt hulpwerkwoorden gebruiken om aan te geven dat je iets kan doen, mag doen, wil doen, enzovoorts.
- Can you walk to school?                    - I might come to your party.
- You shouldn't walk to school.          - I must clean this up.
- I will walk to school.                             - You have to be on time.

Types of Modals: 1
Can = kunnen
Could = zou kunnen (en beleefde vragen)
"I can't come to your party" & "Could you help me out?"

May = mogen 
Might = zou mogen (en beleefde vragen)
"You may come to my party." & "I might be able to come."

Will = zal (iets dat in de toekomst gaat gebeuren)
Shall = zal (bij hulp aanbieden)
Would = zou willen / zouden
(beleefde vragen & als iets zou gebeuren)

"I will come to your party"  & "Shall I help you out?"
& "I would like to help."

Should = zou (eigenlijk) moeten, vooral bij advies/afraden
Must = moeten (als je zelf vindt dat iets moet)
Have to = moeten (als iemand anders vindt dat iets moet)

"I must finish this book this afternoon."
"You have to be on time tomorrow." 
"You should really pay more attention in class."
