LINKING WORDS - REASON
1. Because - I don't like ice cream, because it is too sweet.
2. Since - Example: I'm going to bed at 10PM since I need to get up early tomorrow.
3. As - Example: I didn't go to the gym today, as I had a lot of homework to do.

A GOOD OPINION...
  • States the opinion clearly (I agree/I disagree)
  • Gives the reason(s) for supporting or not supporting the statement
  • Wraps up the argument

SANDWICH METHOD
Use the sandwich method to complete your opinion:
  1. Bread: state the opinion clear (I like/I don't like/etc.)
    Example: In my opinion, celebrating Christmas is great,
  2. Cheese: Give the reason to support your argument
    Example: because it is such a cosy time. Also, all families come together to celebrate.
  3. Bread: Wrap up the argument
    Example: Therefore, I love celebrating Christmas.
