What is the passive voice?
The passive voice is the opposite of the active voice:
- Active voice: "The dog bites the man."
- Passive voice: "The man is bitten by the dog."

The (in)direct object of the active voice becomes the subject of the passive voice.

"The aspiring YouTuber published a video yesterday."

How to construct the passive voice?

A passive voice sentence has 3 elements, of which two are required and one is optional:
  1. The (in)direct object of the active voice
  2. A form of the verb 'to be' + past participle (is written)
  3. The word 'by' followed by the subject of the active voice

Examples: 
1. Every year, many students are granted scholarships by universities.
2. The ball was thrown by the boy.
3. After displaying some really poor behavior, the man was kicked out of the club.
