Consider the following point of discussion: 

Should all students be made to take a cooking class?

If you agree, go to the door side of the classroom.
If you disagree, go to the window side of the classroom.

State your opinion, listen and react to each other.

In the pairs that you are going to have your actual discussion in, consider the following topic: 

Should the death penalty be reinstated in the Netherlands? 

Decide who is pro and who is con. 
Then, take 5 minutes to find at least 2 arguments to support your viewpoint.

  • You have already made your pairs
    and decided on a topic last class. 
  • Now, decide who is going to be pro and 
    who is going to be con. 
  • Start finding arguments to support your
    point; also find facts that support your argument.
  • As homework, you should finish at least three arguments in detail. 
  • Fill in the Google form document
    in the next slide
