Why do we practice writing?

- In week 11 you will have a writing test to write a review about a topic of your own choice.

- You should be able to write a review of about 120-180 words

Why write a review?

As a consumer you write a review to share your opinion about a product:

- because you have a strong/an interesting opinion;

- to help out other consumers make a (better) choice;

-Opinion:

Tell your readers how you feel about something:

“I very much like ice cream”

-Reason:

Tell your readers why you feel that way:

“… because it is absolutely delicious”

-Examples:

Give your readers examples:

“… Did you know, it comes in different flavours and it is very sweet?”

Summarize your opinion:

“Ice cream is very delicious, because it is sweet and it has a lot of flavours.”

How to write a review

-Make sure you know exactly what the product is about

Write down your opinion

-Stick to your positive/negative opinion about the product!

Persuade others

-Give a recommendation:

“I recommend this movie, because the actors played their roles very well and the plot is surprising.”

Try to think of why you like your movie or series so much. Think about the actors, the story, the outfits, the place or the time. 

Try to explain why the person reading this should absolutely watch this movie or series as soon as possible!
