The plural of a word what is that?

The plural means meervoud.

For a lot of words, the rule is very simple:

you add an S behind the word to make it plural.

snake - snakes
apple - apples
etc.

Plurals ending in an S
(clocks, teapots, plants)

Sadly, this rule doesn't count for all words.

Word ending in -y

city - cities 
candy - candies
lady - ladies

the -y changes to - ies
