Read the text
As a security officer at the mall, Tom had seen his fair share of shoplifters. But this time, it was different. He noticed a man acting suspiciously, and followed him into a store. He saw the man stuff a pair of shoes into his backpack and attempt to leave without paying. Tom approached the man and asked to see his receipt. The man refused, and tried to make a run for it. Tom chased after him, and managed to catch him just as he was about to exit the mall. The man was arrested and charged with theft. Tom felt a sense of pride, knowing that he had prevented a crime and helped protect the property of the mall.
