1. Introduction

We are doing this presentation, as you have seen about the United states. We have chosen different topics because we think the United states is a nice and interesting country. There is a lot to tell about it and at the end of this presentation there is also a quiz.

2. History

It started with the arrival of Europeans in the 16th century. The Spanish, English and French then established a number of colonies in North America. The United States fought for political independence during the American Revolution.

From a peasant country consisting of loosely connected states, the United States has become the richest and most powerful country in the world since World War II. The rise of the United States as a world power began in the mid-19th century with its expansion westward and continued after the American Civil War. With the interference in World War I and World War II, the United States' position as a world power was assured.

3. The elections

In the United States, elections are held once every 4 years. there are many parties that want to participate to begin with. Of those parties, the 2 largest are chosen. This time it was the Democrats and the Republicans. of those 2 both put forward 1 person who has to convince the country to vote for them. This time it was Donald Trump and Joe Biden. They held an election debate.This time, on November 3, 2020, the people got to vote for who they thought was the best president.

5. school

compulsory education in the U.S. have existed for 16 years. It starts with 1 year of kindergarden, a kind of kindergarten, followed by 12 years of classroom education, from first to 12th grade. then you go to high school.

high school

High school is the last stage of compulsory education in the United States. on average, high school lasts 4 years and children are approximately 14 years old. after high school, they can go to college or university.

6.Landmark

There are many places of interest in the US but we chose route 66.

Route 66 is a historic highway with a length of 3940 km long. It goes from Chicago to Santa Monica. It was constructed on November 11, 1926. In 1988 the route was officially disbanded because it was no longer safe. It attracts many tourists and on some parts you can still drive safely.
