How do we give feedback to our fellow students?

Toptip-method
The toptip method helps you to give feedback in a positive way.

  • Formulate your negative feedback as a tip. Don't say: "that was a bad presentation," but say:  "If you review your presentation and change some of your sentences then your story would make a lot more sense." Then the presenter knows what he/she can do to improve it.

Toptip-method

  • For each negative feedback (tip) you also give a positive piece of feedback (top). That way the presenter will also hear what is going well and he/she will feel more confident and positive.

What could you give feedback about?

Speaking in front of other students:
Do you speak loud, clear, calm? Do you look into the classroom? Do you look at other students? Do you use hand gestures? How is your body language? Do you speak in fluent sentences? Do you read from your paper/slide?
Quality of the slides:
Use of colour, pictures, images, font, lay-out
Content: what information is missing, what information was interesting/surprising

ATL task
Create a visual/graphic (for example use Lucidchart, creatively, Mindmap or Canva) overview of your interaction with the Dutch language and culture. How much time per day, per week, do you spent 'out there' interacting with Dutch people, reading in Dutch, listening to Dutch and writing in Dutch?
Where in your week can you create more space for interaction? Doing what?
Come up with 4 specific activities for each skill to help yourself engage in Dutch. For example, create your personal word list.
Make your activities SMART
Do these activities. Reflect on them in your oral presentation (3/4 minutes)
Hand in on MB.
Presentations on 2 and 7 december.
