Conventions:
  • own address
  • date
  • recipient (address)
  • salutation
  • introduction (why)
  • body (what/how etc)
  • closing salutation
  • your name

Process:
  1. Read the assignment & underline key words => letter / email / other
  2. Recipient (who receives it) => formal/informal
  3. Check mandatory elements; subjects, word count etc.
  4. Read information
  5. Write letter/email/other

Strategies:
    1. Use as many words from the assignment
    2. Use dictionary
    3. Use blancs / Dutch words
    4. Learn conventions by heart
    5. Memorise common sentences
