  • RNA converts the genetic material of DNA into proteins.

How does RNA make protein?
  • Special chemicals in the cells make partial copies of DNA called RNA. 
  • RNA is transported out of the nucleus to the ribosome.
  • The ribosome "reads" the RNA and uses it to arrange amino acids into proteins.
