Prepositions of place & movement

across (over) onto (boven op) up (omhoog) down (omlaag)

into (naar binnen) out of (naar buiten) past (langs)

round (omheen) towards (naar toe) through (door heen)

Prepositions of place & movement

Beside = next to, at the side of, by.

Example: Amanda sat beside the old man during dinner. 

Besides =  as well as, in addition to. 

Example: What else are you studying besides English?
