Bij X:        --> Wasn't/Weren't + werkwoord met -ING

Bij ?:        --> Was/Were vooraan in de zin, + ww met -ING

- Komen vaak samen voor in 1 zin

- Er is dan iets aan de gang (P.C.), en dat wordt onderbroken door een (korte) actie (P.S.)

- Vaak staat het woord when of while dan in de zin:


         I was walking, when a pidgeon attacked me!

        While I was walking, a pidgeon attacked me!
