Describe the format and layout of a formal letter.

Formal letters are used for professional communication.

ie, speaking to a someone with higher authority. 

Describe the format and layout of an informal letter.

Informal letters are used for personal use, 

example; writing to your family or friends

Formal Letter Writing

Write a letter to either:

• Staff member in this school
• Famous person

Examples:

Mr Kelly, Prime Minister, Celebrities, Mr Watts etc.

Informal Letter Writing

Write a letter to either:

• Family member
• Friends

Examples:

Mum, Dad, Grandparents, Cousins, Aunts & Uncles, Friends.
