Enticing the reader

Write a stimulating/enticing introduction.

Example: bio-industry (dairy industry) should be banned.

Bertha is pushed hard to the milking machine after a night in her cramped pen. She is giving milk because she gave birth to her calf the day before yesterday. Where the calf is now, she does not know, but her milk is eagerly sucked out of her by the tentacles of the milking machine.

Another example

Imagine a world where nobody knows what came before them—no one understands how wars were fought, how inventions changed lives, or how great civilizations rose and fell. Without history, we would be lost, like a ship without a compass. History is more than just memorizing dates and names; it is the key to understanding the world we live in today. It teaches us about human nature, mistakes we should never repeat, and the values that have shaped our societies. That's why history is, without a doubt, the most important subject taught in schools. It connects us to our past, guides our present, and shapes our future.

Step 2: write

• Consider: A catchy introduction, a logical structure to your text & a good conclusion to your text
• Work softly in a whisper.
• Raise your finger when you have a question.
• Store your text (and sources) properly in your document.
• Finished? Check your text for language and spelling.
  
  
• Goal --> Write the first draft of your argument.

Giving feedback:

• Tell from the I message.
• Explain why you think something is right.
• Also tell what you think is good.
• Give your neighbor tips on how to improve the text.

Receiving feedback:

• Listen carefully to the tips and tops.
• Don't take it personally: someone wants to help you!
• Ask for clarification if you don't understand something.

Step 3: rewrite

• Give feedback on your neighbor's text.
• Do so by: post comments in the margin or write comments in red, using the assessment form.
• What do you think is good? What could be improved?
• Gently confer with your neighbor buddy. 
• Raise your finger if you have a question. 
• Done? Improve your text and check your text for language and spelling. 

Rewrite

The Final assignment
