Bio = life , tope = place
A biotope is a place with a certain characteristic landscape and living conditions.

Think about a meadow, a lake or a neighbourhood with houses

Slide 6 - Slide

Think of a biotope yourself

Slide 7 - Open question

What makes a biotope?
A biotope is there because it has different abiotic- and biotic factors than an other place.

Abiotic factor = an influence that is not alive. For example: wind.
Biotic factor = an influence that is or was alive. For example: A tree.

Community
All organisms (part of biological factor!) which live and interact in a certain biotope together are called a community.  (Dutch = levensgemeenschap)
So a forest community has trees, squirrels, owls and more!

Slide 9 - Slide

We saw a nice cloud this morning, what is it?
A

B
An abiotic factor

Slide 10 - Quiz

A
An abiotic factor
B

Slide 12 - Quiz

You now know a biotope
Then what is a habitat?
