Debate

A formal discussion about a topic in a public meeting, in which arguments are put forward and which usually ends with a vote.

Look at the following topics and keep them in mind!

People should fully stop eating meat

The school cafetaria should be replaced by McDonald's

ALL drugs should be legalized

How does this work?

Group A, B, C and D

First: Group A and B discussing: All drugs should be legalized

Group C and D judge and vote

Second: Group C and D discussing: The schools cafeteria
Group A and B judge and vote

How does this work?

1. Speaker 1 (group A) introduces  the theme, and what they think of it
2.  Speaker 2 (group B) counters their argument, and gives their own opinion
3. Speaker 3 and 4 repeat these steps, and give a closing argument
4. Groups C and D will judge and vote on the matter
