What will we do?
We will work in duos
We will play this game in class next week.

The goal of the quiz is to make your peers choose the wrong answer. So be as convincing as possible!

Slide 8 - Diapositive

How?
This lesson: in duos, look up a English word that is not familiar.

1. Look up the correct definition of this word and write this down.
2. Start brainstorming of 2 other convincing (but false) definitions of this word.

This lesson: send me your chosen word! (berichten magister)
Next lesson: present your word and the 3 (A,B or C) definitions in front of your class.

Slide 9 - Diapositive

Tips for making up the meaning of words
  • Look at the word. Is it a noun? or a verb? does it seem derived from another word? Use this!
  • Does it sound like another word?
  • Be creative!
  • You might want to explain the (made up) definitions by using a situation in which you can use the definition.
  • Make sure you use the word in a example sentence

Slide 10 - Diapositive

Next Lesson
We will have a quiz in which everyone will present their word and the definitions.

The audience will guess the correct answer (and can score points).

The duo with the most points will be the winner of this spectacular, exclusive, unique quiz!

Be prepared!
