Will: decisions made that instant.
Marie: "Hey, do you want to watch a movie with me?
Jeroen: "Yeah, great! I'll make us a cup of tea."
Or... You're in a meeting and it's decided that a presentation needs to be made and presented in April.
You raise your hand and you say: "I'll do it."
These are decisions made then and there.
you didn't plan this. You made the decision on the spot.

"I'll do it."
Going to: plans for the future.
After work you come home and you tell your parents about the meeting. You say: "I am going to make the presentation and present it in April."
Now it's a plan you made some time ago for the future.
You are telling about a plan you
already
have!

Mind you:
"I am going to make some coffee. Do you want some?"
This might appear to be decided that instant but you made this decision before you asked the question!

Present continuous: arrangements
Used for things happening now: I am painting my house. (you're doing it right now.)
But also for arrangements (afspraken) in the future.
Friend: "Do you want to play football this afternoon?"
you: "I'm sorry, I can't. I'm getting my hair cut at 3 p.m."
The arrangement is for a specific date or time.
Mind you: When you have the plan or idea but not an arrangement you use
going to.
friend: "your hair looks like sh*t!"
you: "yeah, I know. I'm going to get my hair cut soon."
