Scan the chapter

Use your book and laptop/notebook

• Go to chapter 6.1 on pages148-149
• Quickly scan the text for difficult/unknown words
• Make a list of all the words you don't know/understand, add these to your PIF
• Add descriptions and/or synonyms of these words during the lesson

Think-Pair-Share

• Think: Work on the assignment on your own.
• Make a list: How many different parts of a plant can you name?
• Add to your list: What do these parts do?

• Pair: Discuss and compare with your neighbour, improve your answer
• Share: Talk about given answers during plenary session.

Do all plants produce flowers?

Are vegetables and a fruit the same?

Seed germinates = begins to grow

Root comes out first

After the root the stem with some leaves will follow.

A seedling has emerged from the seed.

Plant starts growing, producing more leaves and growing larger stems and roots.

At some point the plant starts to reproduce.

The plant makes flowers, these later change into fruit.

This fruit will contain seeds, from which new plants can grow.
