Slide 8 - Question ouverte

Both authors agree on the appeal of American food because of its marketing (as stressed in the short text) or certain associations such as rock and roll (mentioned in the text in the Textbook). The short text however, is far more critical of the quality of American food. Both text praise the British kitchen. They point out that British food suffers from a bad image. The long text suggests this is because the British belittle themselves. They link it to World War II when the British had to ration food and meals were simpler due to a lack of products.
