Remembering information is much easier if your brain is prepared.
When you try to make a jigsaw puzzle, you start with the edges. That way, it's easier to figure out where the other pieces go.

One way to prepare your brain is by scanning.
Scan the pages with your eyes and look out for:
* titles and subtitles
* images and pictures
* words in bold
Try to figure out how the text is build  up and what it's about.
