What are we going to learn today?
Today we will be learning:
What behavior is.
How behavior comes about
How we research behavior.

Slide 5 - Diapositive

Behavior
Behavior are actions that respond to a stimulus (both internal or external). Oftentimes a lot of actions are shown in response to a stimulus. This is called a chain of behavior.

Slide 6 - Diapositive

Behavior
Motivation is the urge to come to a certain action. Motivation is often low when the stimulus is faint, but becomes higher when the stimulus gets stronger as well.

Slide 7 - Diapositive

Innate/learned
A lifelong discussion between biologists is whether certain behavior is innate or learned. Is it a part of your DNA or did other people teach you this behavior?
When researching this we often use identical twins? Can you think of the reason why?

Slide 8 - Diapositive

Social behavior
People are herd animals, we live in groups. We are also civilized, this means we treat others the same wat we want to be treated. Norms and values are very important within this subject. Values are things we consider to be important and norms are rules we hold to ourselves to perserve that value.

Slide 9 - Diapositive

Observing behavior
When researching behavior, it is often hard to not draw any conclusions to it immediately. That is why we write down observations; the thing we see. After that we can do research about the animal and interpret that behavior; give a meaning to it.
