  1. Himalaya in the north (8000 metres high, cold, always snow)
  2. Ganges Plain: Wide and flat landscape by river Ganges. Of the three Indians live there. Very fertile!
  3. Thar desert in north west part: dry!

  1. 4. Deccan plateau: Flat area above 500 metres. Little rain, area in the rain shadow of mountain range across the west coast. Landscape mostly savannah and steppes.
  2. 5. Narrow coastal area along India's east and west coasts. West coast has tropical rainforst. Ganges Plain -> very populated
