When adding polynomials

it is important to combine 

like terms. 

For example, you will add the 

coefficients in front of the like

terms x². Continue this process 

with the other variables as shown.

An important difference between

adding and subtracting 

polynomials: Make sure to 

DISTRIBUTE the negative to each

term in the polynomial. This will

change the signs. Then combine
