What are we going to learn today?

Today we are going to learn:
-What the difference is between sexual and asexual reproduction.
-How certain organisms can reproduce asexually.

Slide 2 - Diapositive

Sexual reproduction
Sexual reproduction requires 2 sex cells, one male and one female. Because of the sex cells, there is always a difference between the parent and the child.

Slide 3 - Diapositive

Asexual reproduction
In asexual reproduction this works differently. You don't need sex cells, but normal cell division takes place. The DNA of parent and child is therefore the same. This often costs less effort/energy.

Tissue cultivation
You can also cut plants, this is  called tissue culture. Here you take a growing tip of a plant, cut it off and let it grow further.

Slide 9 - Diapositive

Other organisms
Other organisms can also reproduce asexually:
Fungi: Bud formation
Bacteria: Division
(Most) Animals can not reproduce asexually, a jellyfish can do something that comes close.
