The future (1)

The future is used to indicate that something is going to happen in the (near) future.

The Present Simple Future

The present simple future is used for events that are scheduled or arranged.

(To infinitive / Verb + S)

The bus leaves at 8 o’ clock.

The movie starts at 7 o’ clock.

The chocolate workshop is next week.

For predictions, offers and promises

For this case we use will or shall.

Mister Hulst will be an actor in his thirties.

I will help you with your homework.

Shall we have dinner next week?

We only use shall if we talk about a I or We persons and with questions!

Present Continuous Future!

We use the present continuous future (to be + verb+ing) for future plans and arrangements that have already been made.
