🧭 From the Desert to the Poles: Exploring Climate Zones
🌴 Tropical climate
Tropical climates are hot and humid throughout the whole year. The temperature usually stays above 25°C, and there is a lot of rainfall. These areas have dense vegetation like rainforests, palm trees, and tropical plants. People living in tropical climates often wear light clothes and need protection from heavy rain or strong sun.
Examples: Brazil (Amazon rainforest), Indonesia, the Philippines, parts of Central Africa.

❄️ Polar climate
Polar climates are found near the North and South Poles. These areas are extremely cold all year, with temperatures often below 0°C. Snow and ice cover the land, and only a few plants like moss and lichen can grow. The sun does not rise for months in winter and does not set for months in summer.
Examples: Antarctica, Greenland, northern parts of Canada and Russia.

🌳 Temperate climate
Temperate climates have four distinct seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The temperatures are mild – not too hot or too cold – and there is regular rainfall. These regions often have forests, green fields, and farmland. This is one of the most comfortable climates to live in.
Examples: United Kingdom, France, Hungary, parts of the United States (like New York or Oregon).

🏜️ Desert (arid) climate
Desert climates are dry, with very little rainfall during the year. Days are extremely hot, while nights can be cold. Vegetation is limited to small bushes and cacti, and sand or rocks cover the ground. People who live in these areas must find ways to save water and protect themselves from the heat.
Examples: Sahara Desert (North Africa), Arabian Desert (Middle East), Australian Outback.

🏔️ Highland climate
Highland climates are found in mountainous areas. The temperature changes depending on the altitude – the higher you go, the colder it gets. Even if the region around the mountains is warm, the mountains themselves can be cool or snowy. There is often more rainfall and wind in highland areas.
Examples: The Alps (Europe), the Andes (South America), the Himalayas (Asia), the Rocky Mountains (North America).

🌾 Savanna climate
The savanna climate has two main seasons: a hot, rainy season and a dry season. Temperatures stay high all year, but rainfall is limited to certain months. The landscape includes grasslands with scattered trees. Many wild animals like lions, elephants, and zebras live in savannas.
Examples: Kenya, Tanzania, parts of South Africa, Northern Australia, parts of India and Brazil.
🌊 Mediterranean climate
The Mediterranean climate is warm and dry in summer, and mild and rainy in winter. It’s one of the most pleasant climates for living and growing crops like grapes, olives, and citrus fruits. These regions are popular tourist destinations because of the sunny weather.
Examples: Southern Spain, Italy, Greece, California (USA), coastal areas of Chile and Australia.

🍂 Continental climate
Continental climates have hot summers and cold winters with big temperature differences between seasons. These areas are usually far from the sea, so they don’t have the mild temperatures of coastal regions. Snow is common in winter, and summers can be very warm.
Examples: Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, central parts of Canada and the USA (like Chicago or Denver).
