The world's problems?

Ask students to name as many different issues that they think the world is facing.

193 members of the United Nations unanimously agreed on 17 interlinked global goals to be achieved by 2030 as "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". 

Let's zoom in before we zoom back out! 

Imagine yourself, five years into the future. You've done loads of things, you've learned, you've laughed, you've loved, you've cried.

Now answer this question...

What are some of the things you've accomplished five years from now? Where are you at? What's your life looking like?

Now imagine what billions of people working together can accomplish in that same time.

By which year do the SDGs have to be achieved?

3. Sustainable Do Goals
4. Sustainable Development Go

Look for the 17 SDGs

1. Form a group of 2

2. Look online and find the 17 SDGs

3. Talk about which 5 you think are the most important for the world.  

Write down 

1. Your favourite goal.

2. Explain why this is the most important one.

3. What has to be done to achieve the goal?

4. Are you already doing something to achieve this goal?

Link the SDG's to World news

Look again at the goals you wrote down.  Go online and find out what is currently big news and link this to one of the SDG's.

Make a SDG-poster

Pick the goal your group thinks is the most important and think how you would answer these two questions:

1. What are some good ideas to achieve the goal?

2. How will you make those ideas happen?

Make a SDG-poster

Work together with your group to create a poster about your SDG, that illustrates how you would achieve it. You can use colours and stamps and whatever the hell you like.

At the end you will show your poster to the class.
