  1. What does ''irregular verb'' mean? 
  2. Can you give an example of an irregular verb? 
  3. Make a sentence in the past using the word ''brought''.
  4. Turn this sentence into a negative one: I said those things to her.

Past simple: to be (p. 254)
De past simple vorm van 'to be' bestaat uit twee vormen: was & were 
+ I was > I was a guitar player.
+ he/she/it was > It was a snowy day.
+ we/you/they were > We were there all the time.

Bij ontkenningen maak je geen gebruik van 'didn't' maar van 'wasn't' of 'weren't'
- I was not/ wasn't> I wasn't a guitar player.
- he/she/it was not/ wasn't > It wasn't a snowy day. 
- we/you/they were not/ weren't > We weren't there all the time.

Past simple: to be 
Let op! Bij vraagzinnen begin je niet met 'did', maar met 'was' of 'were'.

  • Was I angry? 
  • Were you happy being their friend? 
  •  Were they at the party?
  • Was he really a chef a year ago?
