If -sentences (1st conditional)

Today's goal:

Je weet hoe je een if-sentence moet maken en waar deze voor wordt gebruikt.

Een conditional?

Een conditional is een voorwaarde. 

Deze voorwaarde wordt gevormd door een if-sentence.

Oftewel: als aan deze voorwaarde wordt voldaan, dan zal dit gaan gebeuren. Een voorbeeld:

If you never smoke, you will be healthier.

Hoe maak je een conditional?

Een conditional bestaat uit twee delen:

1. de if-sentence

2. de hoofdzin

Hoe vorm je deze twee delen:

1. de if-sentence staat in de Present Simple.

2. in de hoofdzin wordt will + hele ww gebruikt.

If I go to bed earlier, I will not be so tired.

If you walk the dog more, it will not poop inside the house.

His parents will be really mad, if he doesn't eat his vegetables for dinner.

Je ziet dus in de voorbeelden dat:

1. de if-sentence ook een ontkenning kan hebben in de Present Simple (don't / doesn't).

2. je de if-sentence en de hoofdzin ook kunt omdraaien.
