Comparative adjectives
  • one-syllable adjectives    -->   -er              big --> bigger

  • two-syllable adjectives ending in-le -er -ow -y         (leerowy)                      -->   -er             clever --> cleverer

  • (other) two or more syllable adjectives                                                 --> 'more' or 'less'             intelligent --> more intelligent
