• Wat is een gerund?

Een gerund is een werkwoord met -ing dat gebruikt wordt als een zelfstandig naamwoord.

Swimming is fun.

• Hoe herken je een gerund?

Het is een werkwoord met -ing. (swimming, reading, walking, listening)

1. Als onderwerp

Singing is fun! 

Having a friend like you is great.

2. Na werkwoorden als:

love: I love travelling

stop: They stopped seeing eachother.

start: Abigail always starts planning the mnute she gets homework.

enjoy: They enjoy swimming.

3. Na voorzetsels:

I am fond of dancing.

She's worried about going for her operation.

Complete the sentences using the gerund:
I enjoy __________ (to swim) in the pool during summer.

Complete the sentences using the gerund:

She loves ___ (to listen) to music in her room

Complete the sentences using the gerund:

My little brother likes ___ (to watch) cartoons in the morning.
