The Plan:
  • Why a story?
  • Significant object.
  • You choose a trinket. (junk / rubbish).
  • You make up a story about it.
  • You write an advertisement.
  • Grand finale: Read your story for the whole group.

"We are born to love stories.
Stories spark interest, empathy, emotion, and intrigue."
(Chris Anderson)

Slide 4 - Diapositive

A good story is an effective way to convey our message.

Slide 5 - Diapositive

When you think about the best advertisement you've ever seen, what do you remember? Maybe not even the product, but always the story. You can see this in the following commercials as well: the story takes center stage.

These commercials show that stories are easy to remember. Stories stick with us. Whether a story is tragic, funny, or captivating, a well-told story grabs you and doesn’t let go.

Slide 12 - Diapositive

  • Grab your keys.
  • No keys? Find something else—something from your pencil case? A watch? A piece of jewelry?

Slide 13 - Diapositive

  • Stand in an inner and outer circle.
  • Inner circle: tell the person across from you about your keys (or other object).
  • For example: How did you get them? What doors do they open? Have you ever lost them? Do they have a keychain?
  • Outer circle: listen carefully. You're going to retell this story!

Slide 14 - Diapositive

  • Inner circle: Give your keys/object to the person in the outer circle.
  • Outer circle: You are now going to tell this story to the person in the inner circle.
  • But now, tell it from the perspective of the object!
  • For example: "I am Karel's keychain. I am very important to him, but he sometimes forgets me..."

Slide 15 - Diapositive

  • "Inner circle moves two places forward.
  • Outer circle: tell about the shoes you are wearing now.
  • Inner circle: pay close attention! ;-)."

How did you get it?
What is it?
Who made it?
Where does it come from?
Why is it important to you?
Why is it valuable?
