De betekenis is hetzelfde, beide betekenen 'veel' of een synoniem daarvan. 

Er zit echter een verschil in gebruik:

Many - countable

Use these when there is a large number or amount of something.
You can can use them before nouns you can count and nouns you cannot count.
There is no rule which of the two you should use. You can choose.
